I help people with legal issues following a serious/catastrophic personal injury, the wrongful death of a loved one, unreasonable denials of insurance claims, and with other litigation matters. I am often retained in complex cases that do not fit easily into a category. I have. been involved in many cases with seven or eight figures of damages.
I grew up in Western Washington and returned back to the area after completing my college education. Prior to law school, I completed a master’s degree in theology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. After finishing my degree in theology, I chose to go to law school because I believed the legal profession would allow me to make a practical difference in the lives of others.
I worked full time in law school. Despite a very full schedule, I graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law with my Juris Doctor, within the top 10% of my class. In my last year of law school, I worked as a law clerk at a firm in downtown Seattle that focused exclusively on representing persons wronged by their insurance company or individuals who suffered a personal injury.
I feel lucky to be able to practice law in areas where I get to represent individual people who need legal help to overcome a crisis. I believe that "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." I fight hard for what I believe is right and just, often against insurance companies who have either lost or simply never possessed the ability to understand loss.
I am often involved in heartbreaking cases where the loss to my clients is immeasurable. While monetary compensation is the only direct remedy that civil justice can provide, my hope is that when the case is over my clients have found a measure of peace and closure through the legal process. As Ernest Hemingway wrote, “The world breaks everyone, and afterward many are strong at the broken places.”
My colleagues recognize me as an aggressive and compassionate advocate. If you are in need of legal help, please call me at (425) 998-8999 or email me.
